The citizens and residents of the Belait District expressed their gratitude for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's personal gift of dates, in conjunction with Ramadhan. Over 31,000 small boxes of date were distributed through village heads of mukim in the Belait District.

It has become customary for the citizens and residents of the country to receive His Majesty's personal gift of dates, as a meal to break the fast during the month of Ramadhan.
